Day one is in the books for the NCVA 2016 Golden State National Qualifier, and the 18U Rogue Valley Volleyball Club went 3-0, improving their ranking from #19 to #2. A good day on Saturday will put them in the Gold Bracket on Sunday with a shot at nationals.

Tomorrow begins the three-day Golden State Qualifier Volleyball Tournament in San Mateo, California. The last time we were down there the Rogue Valley Volleyball Club 18U team was seeded #13 but finished in 3rd place. This time the same team is seeded #19 so the competition should be better.

Winton’s HR was a two-run shot, and the Raiders went on to win over #18 Vanguard in California. Sydney White pitched the first five for the Raiders.
The Raiders beat #20 Biola later in the day by the same score.

Southern Oregon had 6 women wrestlers compete in the WCWA Women’s Nationals 2016 this weekend. Other than the Raiders, no team with fewer than 10 wrestlers finished in the top 14. The 10 teams that finished above the Raiders averaged over 18 wrestlers per team! For a first year program, the results really couldn’t have been much more impressive. The Raiders are now 21-1 after last night’s 111-33 victory. Tuesday night’s game (2/9/16) will be a big one against OIT in Ashland. The winner will be in first place in the Cascade Conference. The crowd will be huge. Get there early if you want a seat (and a free t-shirt).
