The CCC heptathlon and decathlon are happening today and tomorrow at Raider Stadium in Ashland. You can watch the events live or follow the results online here.
Oregon Tech’s Seth Gretz won the 100m dash, while SOU’s Joe Dotson came in fourth, in the decathlon
Eagle Point is 5-0 against teams from Oregon and ranked #1 in the state. Ashland is 8-0 and ranked #5. Someone will have a blemish on their conference record after today’s game @ Eagle Point @ 5. The same two teams will play a doubleheader in Ashland on Saturday (4/9/16) beginning at 1.

You can read about SOU’s 6th place standing in the Directors’ Cup here. Digging into the data a little deeper reveals that the schools in front of Southern in the rankings all have swim teams (SOU, and most NAIA schools, do not). If you back out the swim points, SOU is actually in first place!
With less than 30 teams competing in swimming at the NAIA level, why does swimming get equal rating with football (87 programs have football)? Or basketball (over 130 programs have basketball in NAIA DII)?

Asbury College just beat #2 seed St. Francis to pave a potentially easier road for Southern Oregon in the national tournament. Massey had St. Francis as the #5 team in the country, and SOU would likely have had to beat them to make it to the Final Four. Not any more.
First things first. First the Raiders need to defeat Clarke today. The game starts soon.
