The books I previously mentioned are now available for purchase here.
In addition to the description I gave on the above link, there are a couple other things you may want to know. First, all players on the 2014 SOU football team are in the book at least twice. Most players are in the book at least three times. The coaching staff is pictured at least twice as well, including a photo of the coaches with Grizzly Peak in the background which hasn’t been seen before.
A few people have asked about the differences between the two versions. The page quality is the same. The main difference is one is hardcover and the other is a softcover. The ten additional photos in the hardcover include a Keegan Lawrence run (with some of the linemen) against Carroll, a defensive stop in Chicago featuring Julius Rucker, Jaylenn Hart, Alex Stork, and Heston Altenbach. a post-game celebration leap by Melvin Mason in Chicago, the team at a high school in Florida, Laurence Calcagno and Heston Altenbach kissing the trophy, a Heston Altenbach and Daniel Breaux tackle against MidAmerica Nazarene University, Sean Tow lunging for the goal line, an Austin Dodge pass against the Montana Western Bulldogs, most of the team on the field with Coach Howard after the semifinal win, and Sean McShane flying across the Ashland High School field early in the season.
There are also some blank, white pages at the front and end of (both versions of) the book that can be used for autographs or to attach a roster.

After last weekend’s road win over an almost-ranked Oregon Tech team, the Southern Oregon University women’s basketball team moved up two spots in the rankings. This weekend they play at 5-4 College of Idaho and #27 (7-2) Eastern Oregon.

We are currently experiencing a bit of a lull in the home sports action at SOU. The wrestling and basketball teams have been on the road and will continue to compete away this weekend. The next event in Ashland is next week’s wrestling vs. Simpson on the 29th.

Piles of coffee table books documenting the 2014 SOU football team’s season arrived in the mail today. I decided to go captionless with the format rather than have words clutter up the pages. The only words are on the front and rear covers.
There are two versions of this book. The regular version is 33 full-color pages in length (plus front and rear cover photos) and includes about 40 different photos, most photos being in a large 8″ x 11″ format. Some of the photos have not been published anywhere before (or even been seen by anyone but me). Others are favorites that have been well received on the internet already (but many people haven’t seen them on anything other than their phones). These photos look much better in large print on high quality paper than on a small smart phone screen. The photos come from seven of the games during the Raiders 13-2 championship season and a few are from other events (like the parade in Ashland and activities in Daytona Beach).
The deluxe version is 43 full-color pages in length plus the front and rear covers. The deluxe version is a hard cover book which includes all of the photos from the regular version plus 10 more.
All profits from the sale of these books will go toward the SOU football program. Championship t-shirts are available through the link here.
P.S. Lots of you are emailing me asking to reserve books for you. I’m not selling the books. SOU is selling the books. Details here. Note that the regular version has sold out. There are a few deluxe versions left (as many more of them were ordered).

Just some photos today from the past couple nights (when the Raiders went 4-0) that have been cropped elsewhere on the internet.

#3-ranked Dalton Urrutia and seven other Raider wrestlers defeated their Cumberland opponents this morning to move on to the quarterfinals where they are currently facing Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The semifinals and championship rounds will happen tomorrow (1/10/15).
Some of you may have found your way here through the link on souraiders.com. I have had several people email me asking questions about buying prints or about finding all of my photos for a certain sport.
The photos I post here are a small fraction of the photos I actually have. If you would like to print any of the photos on this blog, you are welcome to do so at no charge. Be sure to click on the photo to get to the higher resolution size which will print with more quality. If you want to use them on the web (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc.), you are welcome to do so if you link back to traveljapanblog.com/ashland with the photo or link back to the URL with source of the photo.
If you would like me to search through all of my photos and send you photos of the particular athlete you are looking for I charge a reasonable fee for the time it takes me to find all of those photos and to process them for you. I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service. You can also make photo books or do whatever you like with the pictures. My email is on this page.
