Nazis, this way

nazi tokyo swastika japan religious symbol good fortune

Japan is about the only country on the planet not to get the 75-year old memo on the swastika. Instead, they still use it as a symbol of good fortune or to mark on a map where a religious site is located.

Is that supposed to be funny? If yes, then I don’t get the joke.
I would have assumed that you know about the difference between the sacred character in Buddhism and Hinduism that is depicted here and the symbol of the Nazis that is based on this symbol, but rotated by 90 degrees.

Not supposed to be funny at all. I’m merely pointing out that Japan still uses the symbol even though it is prohibited in many places and not used most other places in the world any more. To foreign eyes it can look rather shocking to still see it in the 21st Century.

BTW, the Nazi version was rotated by 45 degrees.

One additional difference between the two in addition to the rotation difference, the Japanese symbol has the ‘spokes’ pointing to the left, whereas the Nazi symbol points to the right.
