Fjaðrárgljúfur (Black Rock Canyon near Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Iceland)
On my first trip to Iceland I stayed in Reykjavik and only left the city for a brief puffin boat tour. On my second trip I rented a car and did the Golden Circle on my first day. The weather was fantastic.
However, on my second day the weather forecast was not good, and I was heading down the Ring Road to explore the southern coast. I was a bit bummed, thinking nothing would look very good in the rain. However, this canyon looked outstanding in the rain, maybe even better than on a sunny day.
