Oregon Ducks Softball Cheridan Hawkins

Oregon Ducks Softball – Cheridan Hawkins

@CheridanH11 The Ducks beat the NCAA Division I player of the year (Lacey Waldrop of Florida State) this afternoon. The final score was 3-0 thanks to the shutout thrown by Cheridan Hawkins. Hawkins still has two more seasons of eligibility after this season so one of those player of the year honors may be going to her in 2015 and/or 2016.

Oregon plays again Friday (5/30/14) against #5 seed Flordia. Game time is 4 p.m. PST on ESPN2.

Oregon Ducks Softball – Janie Takeda

@jtakeda19 Most programs are happy when they have one All-American. Oregon has three in 2014. The other two are Cheridan Hawkins and Courtney Ceo. Only Ceo is in her final season.

Ducks need just one win today to go to College World Series

Oregon Ducks Softball Janelle Lindvall

Oregon Ducks Softball – Janelle Lindvall

@jlindvall26 Oregon had no problem with the Golden Gophers yesterday, easily winning 10-2. Courtney Ceo was the offensive hero, leading off the Ducks’ half of the first inning with a home run, but since I posted a photo of her yesterday, today’s photo is of one of last weekend’s stars (when I took this picture), Janelle Lindvall, who had a two-run home run against Wisconsin. Janelle also had a good game against Minnesota with two hits and an RBI.

Today’s game is at 2 p.m. on ESPN. If Minnesota pulls off an upset, they’ll have to beat the Ducks again on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. PST.

11 Ducks a Leaping

The #1 ranked Ducks danced for joy this past weekend as they defeated #25 Wisconsin twice to move on to the next round of the 2014 College Softball World Series.

@OregonBaseball @krook_daddy This past Saturday evening I watched this freshman pitcher strike out 10 in just 5.1 innings. He only gave up one hit too. However, the Ducks couldn’t score. The next night they scored 20 runs. Go figure.

Andrew Moore building on his fantastic Freshman year

After being chosen as one of only three Freshman All Americans last season, Moore has actually pitched even better in the early part of his Sophomore year. 7 2/3 shutout innings last night lowered his ERA to just 0.79 for 2014.
