Today’s photo is a reverse angle from this prior post. Oh yeah, and the season is a bit different too.

This is not what Ashland looks like at the moment. Today’s photo was taken back in January in the mountains to the east of Ashland. In fact, there is no snow in Ashland as I write this. However, the forecast is for snow so they have closed the schools.

Snow tracks

Snow has yet to fall in Ashland this winter. However, the forecast says snow will begin tomorrow morning and we are supposed to receive 2-4 inches tomorrow. Forecasts always seem to be wrong, though, so I’m predicting either no snow or 6-8 inches.

Today’s photo is from a couple winters ago.

Light fog through Ashland

Ashland, Oregon

December is upon us so these colors no longer exist, but in early November this is what things looked like from my window.

Bald eagles hunt rodents too

I have been kicking myself since June for only having my 24-120mm lens with me the first time I visited this ranch in Oregon high desert country. The second time I brought my 70-300mm lens, but there were no eagle sightings on that day.

This photo showed up as my background, desktop photo of the day so I decided to process it. When I viewed it at 100% I realized that this eagle has a field mouse in its talons. You can see it too if you click on the image (maybe twice depending on your browser) to view it at 100%.

Another back to school day

Soon things won’t look so great. By the end of November only the evergreen trees will be something other than brown and dreary. These last few moments of the fall season are to be cherished.

The buildings in the background of today’s photo of the Southern Oregon University campus are the Computer Sciences buildings (Computing Services and the Main Computer Lab).

Early April in Ashland

I have been posting a lot of people pics recently. Today I plucked one from the archives without any humans visible in it. Wrong season, I know, but it’s fun sometimes to see what things will again look like in six months.
