Lauren Quirke came into today’s game with SOU down 3-1. She went on to pitch for 4 innings, giving up zero runs, and scored the game-winning run in the 7th inning to clinch the opening round of the NAIA playoffs for the Raiders.

Around the NAIA, #1 Oklahoma S&A, #2 Marian, and #5 Lindsey Wilson all lost (although none have been eliminated yet). Oregon Tech is undefeated as well.

Olivia Mackey went 2 for 2 with a walk and 3 RBI in SOU’s 5-0 win

All four CCC teams won today, including the #3 seeds College of Idaho and Corban in “upsets”. A couple of the top teams in the country almost lost. Undefeated #2 Marian won in extras and #5 Lindsay Wilson had a similar result, but both will make it to day two without a loss.

SOU will face Hope International tomorrow in Medford at 11 a.m. The winner will make it to day three only needing to win one more time for the right to go to the NAIA Softball World Series.
