Ashland overlook in autumn from Hald Strawberry Park
A little over a month ago, Ashland looked like this from the trail that switches back and forth in Hald Strawberry Park. The scene isn’t as pretty now, but the landmarks of the Ashland Springs Hotel and the Elizabethan Theater in the OSF complex are still there of course. I should try this shot again the next time it snows in town.

Full moon with Jupiter
Last week there was a full moon and Jupiter (the bright point below and to the left of the moon) was close to the moon. With a few wispy clouds buzzing across the sky it was all too much for me to resist so I headed out into the cold darkness for this photo.
Nikon D7000 price drop
Nikon has just lowered the price of the camera that I have used for most of the images on this blog for the past year and a half. Perhaps the next version of the D7000 (the rumored Nikon D7100) will be coming out soon. Or maybe Nikon just wants to sell a bunch of D7000s for Christmas. Fall leaves are long gone now that we enter December
Now that we’ve begun the wettest and coldest time of the year, I really miss the other seasons. Today’s photo, from the Japanese maple tree in my backyard, is from less than a month ago.
