Last night, Friday the 13th, there was another three-act metal show at Musichead.

First up was Maldemption, the only local band on the bill, doing their first live performance as Maldemption. A few years back they played as NailMary.

After a four-day break for the All-Star Game, Major League Baseball resumes play today.
I took today’s photo at Fenway Park in Boston after the game we saw a couple weeks ago.

Moments after Mother Nature unleashed about an inch of rain, today’s photo captures the view from Brooklyn of Lower Manhattan. To the far left is the Statue of Liberty and to the far right is the Brooklyn Bridge. I took this picture about an hour before taking this one.

Cano didn’t do so hot in the 2012 Home Run Derby, hitting a grand total of zero home runs. Fielder, on the other hand, won the contest after a slow start.

Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees shows his home run swing
I don’t think I have ever watched a MLB Home Run Derby. Most years I haven’t had ESPN or I’ve been traveling overseas during the All-Star Break. Tonight I may watch my first.
Last year’s champion was Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees. He hit one during my first visit to Yankee Stadium last month. It was a historic day as the Yankees and Braves combined to tie the record for the most home runs hit at Yankee Stadium in a single game.

Will Robinson Cano be smiling again at the end of tonight's contest?

While the parade was going on this past week, a couple of Ashland’s police officers were standing in front of me. A lady ran over to them and said something. They followed her and moments later they had Wesley Hoseclaw in handcuffs. Since this was right in the middle of the parade route the parade marshals held things up farther up Siskiyou Blvd. A fuller story of why this arrest took place can now be found in the Ashland Daily Tidings.
