I enjoyed a lovely morning up on Buck Prairie yesterday. Snow had fallen overnight, the sun had come out, and the surface in the sunny areas seemed like it was covered in tiny diamonds. I was the first in snowshoes for the day. I was about the fourth car there. When I left, before noon, the parking lot off Dead Indian Memorial Road was packed.

New national rankings came out today, and SOU remained at #4. When all is said and done, there is no difference between #1 and #4 as four teams will receive #1 seeds in the national tournament.
Eastern Oregon University is coming to town this Saturday, and they moved up to #17. Massey has EOU at #13.
I’ve flown into Medford dozens of times over the years (usually after dark), but two days ago, on our way back from Las Vegas (Sedona and the Grand Canyon), was the first time I’ve seen Medford look anything like this on an aerial approach.

Next up is Walla Walla on Sunday (1/8/17) in Ashland. Massey gives Walla Walla a 0% chance of winning. After that the Raiders will face their biggest conference challenge of the season, to date, as Eastern Oregon will be in Ashland on 1/14/17. EOU is also undefeated in conference play, but Massey has the Raiders as 7-point favorites with a 72% chance of victory at home.
