The Raiders were ranked by Massey in the #3 to #5 range all year, with the teams above Southern Oregon showing better records but weaker schedules (SoS above). In the end, SOU didn’t have the best record, but they had the toughest schedule, and, most importantly, they beat the teams with the better won-loss percentages in the World Series to bring home the national championship.

The Cascade Conference was the only conference with four teams in the top 18. In fact, no other conference had more than two teams in the top 25.

According to Massey, who had Lindsey Wilson ahead of the Raiders in the rankings, Southern Oregon has a better chance against their Saturday foe. Massey gave the Raiders a 46% chance against the team they just beat, a 49% chance against Oklahoma S&A, and a 55% chance against Georgia Gwinnett.
