Today’s photo is a reverse angle from this prior post. Oh yeah, and the season is a bit different too.
SOU’s 11-1 start has not gone unnoticed by the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll as the Lady Raiders moved up two spots. Two other CCC opponents are in the Top 25. SOU plays Oregon Tech (#14) on 1/18/14 and Eastern Oregon (#24) on 1/25/14.
The Southern Oregon University Women’s Basketball Team will play their final four games of 2013 on the road, first in a non-conference game in Vallejo, California this Saturday against California Maritime. They will be back in Ashland on January 3, 2014 for their next home game.
SOU’s junior forward Eric Thompson was named the Player of the Week for last week’s performances against Simpson, Concordia, and Warner Pacific (all Raider wins). Autumn Durand received Honorable Mention for the women.
… or at least final exams are supposed to begin this morning at 10:30 a.m. Because half a foot of snow was dumped on campus on Friday evening, and temperatures have been between 3 and 25 degrees since, I’m not sure if everyone can make it to campus. Southern Oregon University has postponed today’s 8:00 a.m. finals, but the rest are still on.
Today’s Skelator pics will be the last, for now anyway. If they come back to Southern Oregon someday I’ll throw some more pictures of them up on the blog beforehand to promote the gig.
Lots going on in Ashland tonight…
beginning at 5 p.m. is the 21st Annual Festival of Light Santa Parade down the middle of town and ending at the Black Sheep with Santa singing from the balcony and the town getting lit up with the Grand Illumination count down
beginning at 5:30 p.m. the SOU Raiders Women’s Basketball Team (7-1) face New Hope Christian College in the Bob Riehm Arena
beginning at 6:15 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be hanging with the kids in the Black Swan Theater
beginning at 7:30 p.m. the #4-ranked SOU Men’s Basketball Team will play
Santa is normally a fixture behind the Raider bench, but I’m guessing he will be busy on the other side of town tonight.
