Yesterday’s “Senior Day” at the SOU softball doubleheader against Corban was rained out (sort of). They will finish the first game at noon today (4/12/15) before playing game two.

There have been many recent softball games in Ashland for the Raiders. There will be many more this week. However, this is it. After this week the Raiders will play all of their remaining games on the road.
Today’s doubleheader (games begin at 2 and 4) will be against Oregon Tech, the conference leaders with a 14-3 record in CCC play.

More than seven years ago I remember 9 or 10-year old Grace (who I had never before met) walking up to me before our first practice and saying something like, “Hey Al, let’s play catch!” I have been a fan of Miss Lenthe ever since.
Tomorrow the AHS softball team plays at North Mountain Park at 5 p.m. (as does the baseball team). The forecast is for rain.

The SOU softball team’s Spring “Break” consists of six games. They were supposed to play two today in Eugene, but those were rained out. They will play two tomorrow in Klamath Falls. Friday and Saturday will feature doubleheaders in Ashland. I’m on my way to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for my Spring Break so I won’t see any of these games.

After a 2-2 week, in which the Raiders split doubleheaders with the #8 and #10 teams in the country, two Southern Oregon softball players received conference honorable mentions as players of the week. Conference play begins this weekend against Concordia and Northwest on the road. Next week the second set of rankings come out, and it will be interesting to see if the 19-9 Raiders crack the top 25 (given that most of their loses were to teams in the top ten).

This was how all of the cool kids wore their stirrups when I played little league in the late 1970s.
The 18-8 Raiders are back in town this Saturday for a doubleheader against #10 Simpson. First pitch will be at noon. Games should continue until about 4 p.m. SOU has beaten Simpson this year, and their last game against them was a 2-1 close one so these should be very good contests.

The 16-4 Raider softball team will play 8 games over the next few days in California. They will be playing ranked teams like Simpson, Biola, and Concordia (California) so a strong showing could put the Raiders in the rankings when the next poll comes out on March 17.

I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service.
