On our way back from three nights in Gold Beach on the Oregon coast this past weekend, we stopped off in Stout Grove for the first time in over eight years. We went there probably 10 times during our first 12 years in Ashland but haven’t had the chance recently.
Another pic today from Stout Grove, one of my favorite places on the planet.
We went to the coast this past weekend and stopped in Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, part of California Redwood National Park, along the way. I never tire of this place even though I’ve been there many times now.
Part of the beauty of Stout Grove is that if you tire (not likely) of looking at the enormous redwoods, you can always take in the lower scenery featuring ferns, clover, and moss aplenty.
One of the main reasons we went to the Oregon Coast this past weekend was to show our Japanese friend, Takumi, some California Redwood trees. There is no better place for doing so than Stout Grove in Jedediah Smith State Park. Even though it was raining, Takumi quickly feel in love with the redwoods.
