Two years ago today…
…I was more wet in my clothes than at any other time in my life.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard started the night off with the song “The Dripping Tap” which includes the lyric “the dripping tap won’t be turned off by the gods up above us”, and they weren’t wrong. Over an inch of rain fell during their set, and while an inch doesn’t sound like much, it meant that we were standing in several inches of water. Basically the venue turned into a pond or stream, depending on where exactly you were standing.
I was never so happy and miserable at the same time. I also learned that waterproof gear is only temporarily waterproof in certain conditions.
And the setlist? Three songs off of “PetroDragonic Apocalypse” and two off of “Infest the Rats’ Nest” made for a very metal evening.
