Copenhell drops 10 more names

Copenhell added 10 bands to the 2019 lineup this morning. The bad news is no Behemoth or Death Angel. They still have about 10 more bands to announce though. Fingers crossed.
The good news is that I’ll be seeing Slægt, not once, not twice, but three times this summer! Slægt is also playing Metal Magic and Brutal Assault.
A few bands I never thought I’d see were also added including Glenn Hughes (doing an early Deep Purple set), Pretty Maids (a Danish band that my best friend in high school got me into more than 30 years ago with their “Future World” album), and Katatonia.

One month from today Deafheaven, Baroness, and Zeal & Ardor will be playing in Berkeley. Alas, I do not have a ticket or a photo pass. I’m willing to make the trip if one were to be offered. Anyone?

We are looking at just over four months until Copenhell and a bit under six months until Brutal Assault. Sodom will be at the 2019 Brutal Assault Festival. These two festivals will be the bookends for my European concerts this year.
Copenhell announces 2019 warm-up day acts

The good news is they did it a month earlier than last year. The bad news is that, unlike last year when I was super excited by Mustasch and Neurosis being on the bill, I’m unfamiliar with this year’s bands. They are: Eagles of Death Metal, Immolation (also at 2019 Brutal Assault Festival), 1000mods, and Like A Star. I can tell from just a brief listen that I’m not interested in Like A Star (so hopefully they will go on first or last), but now I have almost five months to get familiar with the other three.
