However, after crushing (final score was 88-48) top-ten opponent Stanford on the road and defeating another top-ten team (Oregon State) at home last night, Massey Ratings (computerized rankings w/o human bias) has the University of Oregon at #1.

Tonight the Ducks take on Washington in Eugene for their first Pac-12 contest of the 2018-2019 season. This year the Pac-12 is loaded as five (or six depending on the poll) teams are in the top 25. The Ducks, at #5, are ranked at the top of those five teams.

The #7-ranked Oregon Ducks have perhaps the best women’s collegiate basketball player in the world right now. Sabrina Ionescu was ranked number one by ESPN in the preseason and has done nothing yet to disprove them.
I was fortunate to be at today’s game when she broke the all-time record for most triple-doubles. She already owned the women’s record. Today she broke the men’s record as well. What’s even more amazing is she isn’t even halfway through her junior year.
