A little over three years ago I took today’s photo on a lovely summer morning in a town I would love to visit again.
Three years ago today I went out after dark with a photographer friend of mine, and we practiced shooting some long exposures around the streets of Copenhagen. After dark in Copenhagen’s summer means midnightish (this photo was taken at 11:50 p.m.). If you go out at 10 p.m. it will likely still be light outside.
With 130,000 people on the other side of the stages (many of whom have been camping for days), sometimes it’s nice to sneak back to the better smelling, less-crowded area reserved for those with connections. While sitting in a hammock seat I snuck this photo of these Mastodon fans before the Mastodon set.
Ghost BC is one of the more well-known metal bands these days. Before they changed their name to Ghost BC they were known simply as Ghost, and before Papa Emeritus II became such he was known simply as Papa Emeritus.
Today’s photo comes from one of their early performances, their 24th to be exact. Since then I have seen them twice more, and they have played hundreds of shows in the three years since I took this picture.
