Ghost (Papa Emeritus I) @ Roskilde Festival 2011
Ghost BC is one of the more well-known metal bands these days. Before they changed their name to Ghost BC they were known simply as Ghost, and before Papa Emeritus II became such he was known simply as Papa Emeritus.
Today’s photo comes from one of their early performances, their 24th to be exact. Since then I have seen them twice more, and they have played hundreds of shows in the three years since I took this picture.

This seems like too much fun to pass up. If they were playing with two bands I hated I could probably skip this, but I really want to see Gojira, and even though I’m not familiar with Kverlertak, they can’t be bad coming from Norway, right? So next week I may be making the trek to Portland (4/29/14) to hang out with the Mastodon boys and experience their amazingness yet again.

@GhostBcOfficial My random, desktop image of the day is from Ghost’s first-ever show in Denmark and just their 24th appearance anywhere. Since then they have played about 300 shows and counting.
Today’s photo is of Brent Hinds of Mastodon moments before the band took the stage in front of tens of thousands of people at the Roskilde Festival in 2011.
Mastodon’s new album should be out in the next few months. I can’t wait.
