On Sunday SOU will host the first official home athletic contests since early March 2020. The women’s soccer team will square off against Bushnell at 1 with the men to follow at 3:30. Spectators are not allowed due to Jackson County’s Covid-19 risk level.

Eight more days until the no-fans-permitted home opener. The NAIA national rankings came out today, and SOU is still ranked number one in the country.
Riley Donovan

Riley Donovan was named the Cascade Conference Softball Player of the Week. In SOU’s four blow-out wins in Eugene, Donovan went 6-for-11 with 11 RBIs. She had a grand slam and two RBI doubles. Donovan also was 2-for-2 with her stolen base attempts.

A day after her perfect game, Lauren Quirke didn’t let up. Today she gave up zero earned runs, and just three hits, in a stellar, 7-inning performance against ranked Corban University. Her offensive stats were even more impressive. She went 5 for 8 with a home run, four RBIs, and four runs scored in the doubleheader.
Lest anyone discount her perfect game yesterday, given that it was against a D3 team, note that George Fox is ranked #2 (out of 374 schools) in offense for D3 programs by Massey Ratings. George Fox in their prior three games had scored 38 runs in just 16 innings!
