It has been years since I’ve seen a train use these tracks in town. Yet somehow it felt a bit unsafe to squat down on them for this photo.
There is nothing like walking around campus early on a crisp, autumn morning.
In the distance, on the right side of this picture, you can see Pilot Rock. If you were to climb to the top and keep looking in this direction your view would look like this.
SOU’s volleyball team rolled to another victory Friday night. The win over Concordia University (from Portland, Oregon) pushed them to 11-1 in conference play (12-1 after winning on Saturday night too). While fun to watch, it wasn’t very exciting as the Concordia team didn’t seem to have much of a chance.
The sun was just going down when I took today’s pic. The only reason it looks so light is I left the shutter open for a full second. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so there was no sunset to view, and this would have been the perfect time and angle to see it as this is the normal sunset direction.
Today’s photo is looking down East Main Street towards downtown Ashland. Pasta Piatti, on the left, is a good restaurant. The Ashland Springs Hotel can be seen in the not-too-far distance on the right.
The greens of today (yesterday is when I actually took this picture) will soon turn colors. A couple months later it will all be white. Don’t believe me? See these prior shots from the same, exact location.
The leaves are changing colors around the SOU campus. Here is the same, basic view in a much different season.
This is, of course, the same view I’ve posted a couple dozen times, at least, before. Every day it’s different though.
