The coaches don’t have the Raiders in their Top 30, but Massey has them at #15 with a 96% chance of beating Arizona Christian today. Speaking of Arizona Christian, the coaches had them at #26 in the preseason poll. Last year they dominated a different conference, and this year they joined the Frontier Conference. The Frontier Conference is, by far, the most rigorous conference for NAIA football. Just ask Arizona Christian.

Consider not only Arizona Christian but Dickinson State as well. The coaches have Dickinson at #20, despite the fact that they lost to Rocky Mountain (who the Raiders beat by a score of 23-5). Massey has six Frontier Conference teams in the top 17. The coaches have just four in their top 30.

Limpy Botanical Interpretive Loop Trail (Grants Pass, Oregon)

A friend and I went on a short hike yesterday near Grants Pass. It wasn’t the best time of year for the location. In a couple of weeks, I imagine the fall colors will be pretty good, but probably the best time to go would be late spring when the greens are at their peak and the water is flowing with more volume. Still, it was a lovely place–especially on a hot day. Yesterday was in the 80s, but near the creek the temps were closer to 70.

The trail was nice and dry, despite recent rain, but it seems to be a very muddy trail in spring.
