I went on a 26 mile ride this morning, doing the Ashland Loop Road in its entirety for the first time in over 15 years.

Jackson County hasn’t done very well recently with Covid-19 cases. The numbers have landed the county on the governor’s watch list. We could see a movement back to a more restrictive phase if things continue or get worse.
However, the county infections are very different depending on where in the county you are. 97520 (Ashland) has (as of this writing) just 8.8 cases per 10,000 people, whereas every other part of the county has a rate at least twice as high. Medford has over 30 cases per 10,000 people, and White City is the worst at over 68 cases per 10,000 people.
You can see the rates (only updated about once per week) per zip code here.
Perhaps the graphic below has something to do with the discrepancy in rates. Republicans, on average, don’t seem to be taking the virus as seriously and may be more lax in taking preventative measures to avoid transmission.

In the 2016 election, less than 10% of Ashlanders voted for Trump. Over 70% of White City residents voted for Trump.

Rogue River
My Monday Rogue River rafting group is still going strong. Unfortunately, I missed a Monday due to illness. The good news is I’m healthy again. I didn’t have Covid-19. I think I was infected with something via mosquitoes when I tent camped for the first time in many years.

SOU ISA International Show 2013
My random, desktop image of the day is this one from over seven years ago. Where are they now? How many are still in the USA? I have no idea.
