On July 2, Spellcaster will be playing at Musichead in Medford. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend as I will be about 6,000 miles away in South Korea. Today’s photo is from the last time I saw them. Tyler Loney played guitar at the time. Now he does the lead vocals.
Also performing at this show will be the debut of Sylent Storm.
The night Michale Graves played at Musichead was a strange one for me. I was really getting into his music, especially his new CD, Vagabond, during the prior month. My mom was dying, and his tunes helped to get me through that time period.
My mom died a few days before the show. The day after the show we were going to be driving to Eugene for the funeral. It was also my daughter’s birthday (4/18/13) so it didn’t look like I would be going to the show after all. My daughter ended up having volleyball the same night in Medford so I did end up catching just the first few songs before I had to leave.
I didn’t have my concert, camera lenses with me so these didn’t come out the best. The night was still a welcome change of mind for me. I really hope Graves comes back to Southern Oregon so I can see his full show someday.
100 Watt Mind will be rocking the Britt Festival next week. May saw 100 Watt Mind record their first, real studio album in San Francisco. No word yet on a release date, but hopefully it will be soon.
Also playing with Ritual of War and Burials a couple weeks ago was Stoneburner. Stoneburner should do a monthly show at Club 66.
