With lots of river rafting opportunities in Southern Oregon, I have found myself on the Rogue River many, many times. A few days ago, I had my first experience on the Upper Klamath River. The rapids were much more intense than anything I have experienced before. If you are an adrenaline junky, this is the river for you.

All three of the Cascade Conference softball teams that made the opening round are headed to Georgia for the NAIA College Softball World Series next week. Massey Ratings had all three teams in the top 20, with SOU and OIT in the top four. The coaches had OIT way down at #17. Massey did not have the coaches’ #2 and #3 in the top five. Perhaps not surprisingly, they are not headed to Georgia.
I’ll post more commentary on Massey and the Softball World Series once the site has been updated for the opening round games.

Today we walked through Silver Falls State Park for the third time (but first time in over 13 years). This photo was taken between Lower South Falls and Drake Falls.

The official announcement won’t happen for another month, but one of these three should take the honor, with one of the others being the runner up, and the other being the second runner up.
I took a ride on the Bear Creek Greenway yesterday and discovered this view. I’ve ridden (or, less frequently, walked) the greenway dozens of times over the past 20 years, maybe over a hundred. But I’ve never noticed this view before. Was it always there and I just missed it? Or did last September’s Almeda Fire allow it to be seen? I don’t know, but I’m glad to have finally found it.
