Sunrise (October 9, 2023)
October seems to be the best month for sunrises. Today was no exception, but today’s photo comes from more than two weeks ago when the leaves were just beginning to change colors. Today the green leaves are all red and orange.

Limpy Botanical Interpretive Loop Trail (Grants Pass, Oregon)
A friend and I went on a short hike yesterday near Grants Pass. It wasn’t the best time of year for the location. In a couple of weeks, I imagine the fall colors will be pretty good, but probably the best time to go would be late spring when the greens are at their peak and the water is flowing with more volume. Still, it was a lovely place–especially on a hot day. Yesterday was in the 80s, but near the creek the temps were closer to 70.
The trail was nice and dry, despite recent rain, but it seems to be a very muddy trail in spring.

My first little league baseball game in almost 20 years happened a few weeks back. Things have changed–walk-up songs, radar guns, etc. I was thinking about volunteering on a more permanent basis, but hearing the parents and coaches was enough to keep me from doing so.

Pro tip: The day is almost always warmer than it seems like it will be so grab a seat in the top ten rows to avoid suffering in the sun.
