Tonight (6/25/15) Zepparella plays in Grants Pass (with Patrimony and BloodMoon Warning). Tomorrow (6/26/15) Zepparella will be playing at Club 66. Unfortunately, I will be in Bend tomorrow.
Grace Lenthe – 2015 Midwestern League softball player of the year
Both the Ashland High School baseball and softball teams had similar seasons with good starts and poor finishes. The softball team went 10-3 before finishing the season 4-10. They came in 5th place in the 7-team conference. All-conference selections are difficult to come by in a 7-team league, but Grace Lenthe did one better. She won player of the year, an amazing accomplishment for someone on a team looking up at four other teams in the standings. Grace hit over .500 with a slugging percentage over .800 for the year.
Belle Fiore in Ashland, Oregon
I can’t make it due to a prior commitment, but hopefully you can. They will be playing from 5:30 to 7:30. Bring some cash so you can pick up their CD, Sick As Folk. My wife can’t stop listening to it, and I like it too. One song off it can be heard here.

Smithfields during the Ashland Independent Film Festival

This past Monday I headed down the hill to Smithfields to check out Buckle Rash. The place was packed, as it should have been, so we couldn’t sit very close to the band. I, therefore, had no need for my camera which sat in its bag next to my chair. Buckle Rash and Smithfields were both awesome as usual.
Fast forward about 9 hours to 4 a.m. I woke up with the thought that I don’t remember picking up my bag (with contents valued at $2,696.95). After laying in bed for a half hour racked with angst, I got up to check the house and car for said camera bag. Nothing. There would be no more sleep for me.
I contacted Smithfields, though, and they had it! I’m extremely grateful to them for saving me from my own stupidity.
