Yesterday was the first warm day we have had in months, and it almost felt like the day when I took this photo (my random, desktop photo of the day) back in the summer of 2011. I went on a bike ride and saw just a touch of snow on Mt. Ashland, extremely rare for this time of year. I’m guessing there isn’t much on Mount McLoughlin either given the nearly snowless winter we are experiencing.
In Flames has a new album coming out soon. Hopefully, they will come to Southern Oregon on their next tour to support their next release.
We are heading to Southern California for Christmas this year. It has been more than a year and a half since I have been there (when I took today’s photo), and it will be the first time I have been to Santa Barbara, which is where we will be staying. Hopefully the weather is at least seasonably warm, with maybe even a little unseasonably warmness thrown in for good measure.

Vineyards with Mt. Ashland in the background
You wouldn’t know it from all of the vineyards that have sprung up in California and Oregon over the past decade, but we are supposedly in the middle of a wine shortage that will only become worse in the future.
Today’s photo is from June of 2011.
Tonight is the annual pre-race pasta party at the Historic Ashland Armory. Feel free to just show up and pay at the door. You don’t need to be in the race tomorrow to come and eat tonight. The meal isn’t expensive, and all proceeds go to a great cause.
This year’s parade will be on Halloween beginning at 3:30. Last year I had a class to teach at that time so I missed it, but I will try to be there this year. Today’s photo is from the 2011 parade.
