Dankook University’s Traditional Korean Dance Performance at Southern Oregon University

dano scenery korea sou dance music recital hall campus exchange partnership

This past Tuesday evening I had the privilege to witness SOU’s sister university in South Korea, Dankook University, put on a traditional Korean dance performance in the Music Recital Hall on the SOU campus. Apparently, they also did this show at Oregon State University (OSU) the day before or after.

The costumes and performance were so stunning that I’ll post some more images from this event in the future as well under this link.

I’m hoping to teach at DKU in Seoul next summer.

Cole McKenzie celebrates Manny Barragan’s touchdown for the SOU Raiders

The SOU Raiders football team finished their improbable regular season with yet another upset victory yesterday over Montana Tech. Picked to come in 5th place in Southern Oregon University’s initial season in the Frontier Conference, the Raiders did a little better than expected by coming in 1st place instead. Today the seeding for the NAIA playoffs happened, and the Raiders will be traveling to Iowa for the first round. Four more victories will be needed to win the National Championship.

Floater laser bath

I have mentioned before how bad the lighting can be at the Historic Rogue Theatre in Grants Pass. I wasn’t even going to take photos at last night’s Floater show if the lighting was no different. However, a Eugene company was hired by Floater to liven things up a bit, and they did a fantastic job. More photos soon…

If you head out of Ashland toward Talent, Phoenix, and/or Medford on Old Highway 99, this is the scene late in October. Jackson Wellsprings is just to the left of where I took this photo.

Today’s top photo is from SOU’s win over Carroll College about 10 days ago.

For the second time in three weeks, the Southern Oregon University football team will be featured in the NAIA Football Game of the Week. This Saturday in Ashland they will be hosting the #7 ranked Montana Tech team. The game is for the Frontier Conference championship and a bid to the NAIA National Playoffs.

Somehow I think this Eric Cartman (South Park) costume was meant for someone a bit shorter and fatter.
