Mt. Shasta

Photo taken October 2004

About an hour to the south of Ashland in the Cascade Mountain Range lies, or rather rises, Mount Shasta. The above photo is from high on the mountain itself. For a more distant view of the famous mountain see these pictures.

Although my son looks to be in pain he is actually quite happy that he has made it up this far.

Another view from the stands

Every view is a good one from the SOU football stands. I’ve shown you three others, here and here and here.

The stands aren’t nearly full because this game happened a month before school began. Only the locals were in attendance.

SOU volleyball goes for the block

It doesn’t look like this block was successful, but look at the vertical leap of the girl on the left (Mia Wortel, one of my students). She looks to be two feet off the ground jumping straight up. The building interior in the above picture is the McNeal Pavilion on the SOU campus.

Everyone in town seems to know Orville. He took a class or two from me way back in 2001. You can see some of his work in the local newspaper.

Grizzly Peak can barely be seen in the background through the smoke from California wildfires. My old boss’s car can be seen in front of O’s.
