Rosenborg Castle Knight’s Hall

Most of the time, if you walk into Rosenborg Slot‘s Knight’s Hall it is swarming with tourists. However, I got lucky as it was completely empty. What a feeling it was to be in such a room all by myself. The king and queen’s thrones can be seen at the far end. I’ll post close-up photos of them at some point.

Copenhagen’s Stock Exchange Spire and The Balancing Act

The Danish sculptor, Jens Galschiøt, has created a number of balancing works of art that can be found in Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Oslo.

In the background of today’s photo you can see the spire on Copenhagen’s Old Stock Exchange building (Børsen) featuring four dragons with their tails twisting towards the top and ending in a spear with three crowns representing The Kalmar Union between Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Despite numerous fires that have wiped out much of Copenhagen over the years, this is still the original from 1640.

I merely walked from the Orange Stage to the Odeon Stage (where Ghost was going to be playing later) to wait for Ghost and Swans happened to be playing. What a trip they were…
