Probably the least photogenic time of year for these aspens, but this was a lovely place. We started our walk near Dillon Falls and turned around near the “Aspen Day Use Area”.

I thought this stream was called Alder Springs Creek, given the name of the trail, but I think it’s actually called Whychus Creek. This is a very nice hike, especially on a day less than 95 degrees (which was the temperature on the day we did it), but it’s a pain to get to as the road is not good, and Google maps will lead you astray.
Bend in autumn
Another photo from our trip up to Bend a couple weeks ago. Rain began a bit after this photo was taken. This is a very calm part of the Deschutes River.
