This was supposed to be a 5.8 mile out-and-back trail, but the evidence of bears in the area became so obvious that we turned around near this point, less than a mile from the trailhead. Instead, we watched the water life in the nearby bay.

We had pretty crappy weather for the days we were in Cordova last summer. We never saw Mt. Eyak, for instance, which would have been visible most of the time from where we were had the skies ever been remotely clear.
Even though Sheridan Lake is a bit of trek to get to, we decided to go anyway. The closer we got, the harder the rain fell. And then, like a miracle, as we exited our vehicle the rain stopped. We began our walk and the clouds partially lifted for just a few minutes for the above view. By the time we were back to our car it was raining again.
