This past Friday, as we were heading up I-5 into Portland, Mt. Hood was in full view. A bit later, we could see Mount St. Helens too which I don’t remember seeing from south of Portland before. Anyway, it was a very clear day so we went up to the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Loop for this photo.

Sheridan Glacier, Alaska (August 2023)

We had pretty crappy weather for the days we were in Cordova last summer. We never saw Mt. Eyak, for instance, which would have been visible most of the time from where we were had the skies ever been remotely clear.

Even though Sheridan Lake is a bit of trek to get to, we decided to go anyway. The closer we got, the harder the rain fell. And then, like a miracle, as we exited our vehicle the rain stopped. We began our walk and the clouds partially lifted for just a few minutes for the above view. By the time we were back to our car it was raining again.

The String Cheese Incident @ 2023 Hog Farm Hideaway

I was thinking about possibly heading up to Portland for three nights of String Cheese this July, but with Neil Young and Crazy Horse playing in Bend on one of those nights, I don’t think SCI is in the cards for me this year.
