I was going to see The Cure, and then I opted for Behemoth instead. But The Cure played for so long (27 songs!) that I was actually able to catch the last five songs or so after Behemoth.
Below is a super high-quality video of “Pictures of You” which I missed as it was much earlier in their set.

Just 54 days until I see these Swedes again. Can’t wait! I haven’t seen them live in Sweden for 11 years.

70 days from today the Gefle Metal Festival will begin. MYRKUR will be there, as will I. As Amalie has been posting recently about the “viking in her belly” it will be interesting to see her set with her that far along in her pregnancy. The next month I’ll see her again in the Czech Republic, and I think she’ll be very close to her due date at that point.
2019 Roskilde Festival Schedule

The Roskilde Festival announced the final bands (none that I’m interested in unfortunately), and published the schedule/running order. I’m really disappointed for a couple of reasons. The first is that there aren’t many bands I want to see (unlike prior years). The second is that the two bands I want to see the most almost totally overlap. I’ll only be able to catch one or two songs from The Cure before heading over to see all of Behemoth’s set. A few other bands I was hoping to see don’t fit well into my plans. The Body/Full of Hell are playing too late (start time of 2 a.m. on a day I’m teaching), Whores are playing too early (5 hours before any other band I want to see), and Kikagaku Moyo overlap with Behemoth as well and are playing on the opposite end of the festival site. Parquet Courts overlap Testament so I’ll probably miss them. So I’m left with just six or so (out of 180 bands!) that I will end up seeing.
