Relay For Life in Ashland, Oregon 2013 – Luminaria Bags line the track at Raider Stadium on the SOU campus
The University of Oregon did not do as well as Oregon State in the 2013 College World Series. Even though they had a #1 seed (and hence hosted the games in the Regionals), their 3-2 record was not better than Rice’s 3-1 so the #2 seeded Owls advanced, and the Ducks were eliminated last night. The Ducks finished the season with 48 wins, the most in their history.

Today’s photo is from the archives. I took this in February of 2011 with my LX3. The Varsity sports some of the last neon left in town. I think there was about twice as much neon a decade ago as there is now in Ashland. At some point I imagine it will all be gone.
Saturday (6/1/13) at 1 p.m. at Raider Stadium will feature the second annual Prom Dress Rugby match. It’s only $5 (and I think that includes a BBQ lunch) so head on down.
Opening for Lich King a month ago (4/27/13) was Oregon metal band, Crimson Guardian.
Stoneburner, Burials, and Ritual of War will be playing at Club 66 in Ashland this Thursday evening (5/30/13).
In the latter part of the last decade, Max Gordon was starring for the Ashland High School Baseball Team. Now he plays center field for Oregon State. He has made several, stunning diving catches this season. For instance, this past Sunday he made one of the most miraculous dives I have ever seen.
