Pig Bench

This bench was on the grounds of the Chambered Nautilus. Unfortunately, it was far too cold to ever enjoy this fun little seat.

University of Washington

The morning of our first morning in Seattle was bitterly cold. In the afternoon the clouds began to break up and things got pretty.

Mount Rainer

It’s time for another road trip. I’ve spent the last couple of days in Seattle. You’ll get a week, or more, of it here. I hope you don’t mind.

Today’s photo is from the plane flying into Seattle. This is the sunrise behind Mount Rainer. I apologize for the lack of clarity but there isn’t much you can do behind those thick, dirty airplane windows.

Here is a somewhat cleaned up version thanks to Paint Shop Photo Pro. You probably can’t see much difference unless you look at the larger versions by clicking on them.

Ashland Creek in Lithia Park

Another one from the archives today. This is from a couple of Octobers ago.

Lake of the Woods

I know it’s only January, but I can still dream, right? Today’s photograph is from the 3rd of July 2007. The kids are playing in Lake of the Woods, a little over a half hour east of Ashland. In the background is Mt. McLaughlin.

Final Utah, Nevada, California trip picture

We’ll finally make it back to Ashland in tomorrow’s blog entry. Today’s photograph is the last one I took in California before taking over the driving duties in Mt. Shasta city.

Dead trees, living clouds

This was a lucky shot. Like yesterday’s capture, it’s out my car window on Highway 89 in California between Cayton and McCloud. The clouds were looking good so I took a shot. At 55 MPH you never know what you are going to get in the foreground. I ended up with a nearly perfectly centered tree in the frozen tundra.
