I’m sure it’s a white Christmas somewhere, maybe even in Ashland, but in Santa Barbara, no one even considers the thought. Today’s photo comes from the snow storm that hit Ashland almost three weeks ago. It still hadn’t fully melted when we left for California on December 21.
I’m guessing Jolene isn’t looking for any orders today or tomorrow, but here was the scene at my house last week.
Shasta Hall – Southern Oregon University
The campus will be a ghost town in another week, but there are some holiday lights between the new dorms (Shasta and McLoughlin Residence Halls).

Hyatt Regency San Francisco atrium from above during the holidays
A few nights ago we watched The Towering Inferno for the first time, primarily because we had visited the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco last month where part of the movie was filmed.
The giant sculpture in the center of the enormous atrium of the Hyatt Regency is called Eclipse (to the right of center in the above photo) and can be seen in The Towering Inferno movie as well since the movie was made (or at least released) in 1974 and Eclipse was installed in 1973.

Ashland Community Hospital Lights for Life Tree
This is the 25th year a Lights For Life tree has adorned the space in the road across from the library where Siskiyou Boulevard splits into East Main Street and Lithia Way.
