On my bike ride around Crater Lake last September I spotted this formation known as Red Cone on the northwest side of the lake. Looking at this to my left, with Wizard Island in the middle of the lake to my right, made me think I was looking at twins–this one in bed with the other in the bath tub.

I saw this bird in my backyard the other day, and I don’t think I’ve seen this kind of bird before. Anyone know what kind it is?

I’ve been told it is a varied thrush (Ixoreus naevius).
