The Raiders are now 21-1 after last night’s 111-33 victory. Tuesday night’s game (2/9/16) will be a big one against OIT in Ashland. The winner will be in first place in the Cascade Conference. The crowd will be huge. Get there early if you want a seat (and a free t-shirt).

Today’s random, throwback photo is from May of 2015. All three girls in this photo are named Ellie. What are the odds?
Last week we were treated to a spectacular morning view. I headed out to the lower level of our roof to get this photo. I wanted to head up to the upper level for a better panorama of the sunrise with the fog filling the valley below, but the roof was covered in ice. I couldn’t move without falling so I had to settle for this.

The first home game isn’t until March, but the Raiders will play a bunch of games in February, mostly in California, beginning Friday.

Massey gave the Raiders just a 35% chance of winning tonight’s game at Warner Pacific, but the Raiders are perfect in close games, and tonight was no exception. The final score was 78-76. More details here.

Ashland Little League softball

Ashland Little League is offering two types of registration options this year. In person registrations are at the Senior Center at Hunter Park on the following dates and times:
Saturday, January 30 – Noon – 4
Sunday, January 31 – Noon – 4
Febuary 6 – Noon – 4
Online registration:

The deadline for online registration is 2/15/16.
The fee schedule for 2016 season:
Major & Minor League Fee – $105
Rookies League – $75
T-Ball – $25
Flat Family Fee (for those families registering 2 or more players) – $155
The online registration site accepts debit & credit cards, or you can select the option to pay by check, and mail a check to the P.O. Box.
Note for those families registering 2 or more players: If utilizing the online registration, you must register all children in the same session to receive the discounted family fee. Please email admin@ashlandoregonlittleleague.org if you encounter any issues.
Ashland High School field (AKA Walter A. Phillips Field) condition (January 2016)
The final fundraising efforts to obtain a new multi-purpose turf field for Ashland High School are underway. The new field will be used year round for football, soccer, and PE classes. The current field is largely unusable most of the year. I was out there yesterday (when this photo was taken), and even though it hadn’t rained in over 24 hours, much of the field was swamp like.
There are two ways you can help.
1. Northwest Pizza is donating 10 percent of all sales beginning today to the Ashland School District’s turf field campaign. The other days are 2/10/16, 3/9/16, 4/6/16, 5/11/16, and 6/8/16.
