#1 Southern Oregon @ #4 Carroll – September 5, 2015
Some of you may have found your way here through the link on souraiders.com. I have had several people email me asking questions about buying prints or about finding all of my photos for a certain sport.
The photos I post here are a small fraction of the photos I actually have. If you would like to print any of the photos on this blog, you are welcome to do so at no charge. Be sure to click on the photo to get to the higher resolution size which will print with more quality. If you want to use them on the web (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), you are welcome to do so if you link back to traveljapanblog.com/ashland in the description of the photo. If you are using the photo in a newspaper or magazine, credit “Al Case, Ashland Daily Photo”.
If you would like me to search through all of my photos and send you photos of the particular athlete you are looking for I charge a reasonable fee for the time it takes me to find all of those photos and to process them for you. I do not normally sell prints. I email you the high quality electronic files in .jpg format, and you can do the printing and framing yourself through a local or online service. My email is on this page or you can comment (leave a reply) to a blog entry to communicate.

I had a free day in the San Francisco Bay Area this past Thursday. Initially I thought I’d catch the Cubs-Giants game. However, only horrible seats remained, and the Giants had jacked up the prices to ridiculous levels.
As it so happened, the brand new Southern Oregon Men’s Soccer team were playing their second ever game in the area so I went to it instead. Turns out that was a great decision as SOU won, and the Cubs lost (I hate the Giants), so I got to drive home happy and with an extra $150 or so in my pocket.
The Raiders have four more games on the road before playing their first game in Ashland on September 18. It’s too early to get too excited, but their currently 2-0 team of mostly freshmen and no seniors may surprise some people.

Southern Oregon defeated NCAA DII UC Merced in straight sets tonight. Tyana Andrews led the charge with a .517 percentage, 16 kills, and 7 digs. SOU will be heavy favorites in tomorrow’s matches against Menlo and William Jessup as they already swept Menlo earlier this year and UC Merced defeated William Jessup earlier today. These matches will be the final tune ups before the Raiders begin conference play in Ashland next weekend, likely with a 7-0 record.
More details on SOU’s 1,000th volleyball win can be found here.
Until last year I only shot in RAW for difficult lighting conditions. Now I only shoot in RAW, even for outdoor sports. Yesterday I was on the road, without a computer, so I shot in both RAW and jpg. I sent some jpgs in for quick publication, and they showed up in places like here and here.
Back on my computer today I had the chance to process the same RAW files.

Bored with preseason NFL football? Me too. Well, next week’s game in Helena, Montana counts. Big time. The winner will be #1 in the best conference in the NAIA. The loser will have his work cut out for him. Go Raiders!
@SOURaiders @RaiderVB
The SOU volleyball team ran their record to 4-0, including a defeat of another ranked team today. Previously 3-0 Hastings (ranked #22) was the first team to take the Raiders to five sets, but in the end Southern Oregon prevailed. Laura Morse had 8 digs, 7 kills, and a .462 hitting percentage in the earlier victory over Bellevue.
