My first seven months in Japan, 22 years ago, were spent in Kofu. I went back, for the first time, for this year’s Takeda Shingen Festival. Things have changed; others have stayed the same, like my love for the place. とても懐かしかった。
Eventually I’ll post a few dozen pictures and video from the day’s events.
Today’s picture is of the same place as the top picture in this prior blog entry, Shinjuku’s Kabukicho. The differences are the vantage point and time of day.
We recently inherited a couple of bikes (自転車) from a foreign couple who were leaving Tokyo. I’m not sure how we got along without them for our first seven months here as they have quickly become indispensable.

Today’s top photo is of Omokagebashi (面影橋), a popular starting point for a 1.5 kilometer walk of non-stop cherry blossoms along the Kanda River.
