Oregon Ducks Cheerleaders

oregon ducks hot cheerleaders college cheer leader photos pics

I purchased a new laptop that I’ve been working on the past few days. As such I don’t have access to any photos other than those I recently took so no Japan photos today. I hope you don’t mind this image instead of some U of O cheerleaders that I took earlier this month at a University of Oregon vs. Stanford game.

Nikon D600, first impressions

nikon d600 dslr camera nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8

I tried to resist buying a Nikon D600 for as long as possible, but when Amazon starting throwing in almost $250 worth of freebies and rebates (not including lens rebates up to $200 which I didn’t take advantage of) and with thoughts of shooting at 3200 or 6400 ISO with better results than my normal maximums of 1600-2000 on my D7000, I took the plunge. Some users reported spots (oil and/or dust) on the sensor right out of the box so my first photos were of white walls and pieces of paper at f/22. No dust or oil. I proceeded to take a few dozen photos at more normal apertures (f/2.8 – f/8) and didn’t notice any dust or oil. In this photo, taken at f/16 to see what kind of sun star I could achieve, there were three small dots in the upper-left corner (the usual portion of images which are affected with the D600 problem). I took the dust or oil spots out in Photoshop, but it looks like I will be afflicted with the issue like most other D600 users. If the problem gets worse (especially if it begins showing up in photos in the f/2 – f/8 range), I will be sending my D600 back.

I am, however, looking forward to trying the D600 out at an indoor sporting event and in a low-light, concert setting. Today’s photo was taken with a Nikkor 24-70mm lens, a lens which was rarely wide enough for me on my D7000 (crop sensor). I think it will get a lot more use on my D600 (full frame).

Alaina Bergsma of the Oregon Ducks

A little different perspective compared to yesterday’s photo, although both photos were taken from the same seat in the Knight Arena. Alaina is the star of the University of Oregon Women’s Volleyball Team. She is also the current Miss Oregon, having won the title in late 2011.

Posters of Alaina Bergsma were being given out at Sunday’s game.

Today’s photo was from yesterday’s Standford-University of Oregon women’s volleyball match in Eugene. Stanford won in three straight sets and will retain their #1 ranking. The Ducks, with their loss to California on Friday night as well, will likely fall in the standings from their #2 perch.
