This was the scene well after 10 p.m. last night out my bedroom window for the solstice. I’ll get to watch the sky change behind this Nyboder backdrop for the next five weeks. Some of these buildings were built in the 1600s and 1700s by Christian IV. The church on the left is St. Paul’s and the one on the right is the Marble Church.

We are up in Eugene to celebrate my son’s graduation from college today. My house-divided kids put aside their partisan differences for this photo op. Actually, they are not the least bit divided or partisan, even though they go to rival schools (Ellie is a beaver).

We made it to Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood a few weeks ago just in time to not be able to see much of anything except the interior of the lodge. We’ll have to try this again on a better weather day.
