Guanajuato, Mexico after dark

Sadly, my trip to Guanajuato, Mexico last summer was likely my last as the program I taught in appears to be going away.

Today’s photo is of the intersection where streets “28 de Septiembre”, “Galarza” (to the right), and “Positos” intersect. The hotel on the left has a sign over it (not pictured) which says “Paradon De La Galarza Hotel Diego Rivera”. Head straight down the left fork (Positos) to get to the Museo Diego Rivera.

Guanajuato, Mexico

On a third or fourth visit to a city, you need to do something different to experience the place with fresh eyes. Such was the case on the morning I went for a random walk away from Guanajuato’s town center and took today’s photo. I ended up in a residential neighborhood up in the hills. This is not the typical view of El Pipila, usually photographed from the statue’s base or from the part of town near Teatro Juarez. I’ll show you the more common photo of El Pipila in a future entry.

The Juarez Theater in Guanajuato is beautiful on the outside, day or night. Even though I have been to Guanajuato four times now, this last trip was the first time I entered the theater. The inside is stunning as well. Events held inside are usually cheap or free so be sure to check out the interior too if you ever visit Guanajuato.
