Shoshone Falls (Twin Falls, Idaho – August 2022)

Today’s photo comes from the aforementioned driving break on I-84 through southern Idaho a few weeks ago. You can’t really tell from the photo, since there aren’t any people in it, but Shoshone Falls actually is a bigger drop than Niagara Falls.

I’ve gone by the Shoshone Falls turnoff on I-84 several times in my life, but this week was the first time I actually took the time to visit the falls. On the way there, I parked by the Perrine Memorial Bridge to take the above photo.

Should you ever find yourself on Highway 90 in the Idaho Panhandle, get off the freeway and take a look at this town. Every building in downtown Wallace is on the National Register of Historic Places–every one! I don’t think any other place can say the same. The on and off-ramps to Wallace appear to be some sort of time portals.

We stayed just a few blocks from this lake last week for spring break. The weather wasn’t usually good, but we did get nearly a day of blue sky and a few other moments of blue to go along with the more common clouds and rain.
