The final edition of the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll comes out today. Previously #5 SOU’s standing will determine their seeding in the National Championship Tournament. According to Massey, the Raiders are #3. Whether they end up #2, #3, or #4 in the coaches’ poll won’t matter as all of those positions will receive a #1 seed. Marian was just behind the Raiders in the last poll, but they, like the teams ranked #2, #3, and #4, were unable to defend their conference titles in their conference tournaments. Therefore, they won’t be slipping by the Raiders as Southern Oregon moves up in the rankings. Only SOU and Morningside (of the teams in the top six) were able to win their conference tourneys. The Raiders are the only team with only one loss. Morningside is the only team with two losses. According to Massey, Morningside had a more difficult schedule.

The SOU men will also be in the national tourney. They will likely be a #4 or #5 seed. Last year they went in with an even lower seeding and made it to the Elite Eight.
