Insanity’s Reign, Sylent Storm, and Witchaven will be playing from 5-8 p.m. this evening.
I was in Northwest Pizza yesterday to watch the World Cup. I was wondering why all of the kids were so happy even though the USA was losing until I saw this part of the menu. 😉
You can’t save places to watch the parade before 6 a.m. on July 3. The parade begins at 10:15 a.m. (on July 4 of course) from Triangle Park.
There are no legal fireworks in Ashland (even if they are legal in other parts of the state).
There will be a fireworks display at 10 p.m. shot from the normal location on Iowa Street.
All the world is abuzz with the World Cup currently happening in Brazil. On a more local level, SOU’s soccer team will be playing on a new field this fall. The old football turf is currently being torn out and will soon be replaced with a new, artificial surface for the football and soccer teams. In addition, we will finally be able to host track and field events again.
Southern Oregon University began a new tradition at graduation last weekend. Alumni from the class that graduated 50 years before are invited to come back and walk again. So this year the Class of 1964 could be seen wearing gold and leading the Class of 2014 down the aisle of faculty in Raider Stadium.

I missed Hemorage the last time they came through as they went on fairly early and the SOU basketball game I was at went into overtime. Tonight they should be hitting the stage at about 10 p.m. Penitent goes on first at about 8:30. Burney Chair, consisting of most of Infernal Throne, will be in the middle.
If you are in the Rogue Valley and aren’t 21, or can’t make it tonight, you can see Hemorage tomorrow in Medford at Musichead with Something on the Wing, Spicy When Naked, and Blinded Society @ 6:30.
We have all known that Ellen wasn’t going to be with us long for years now, but that doesn’t make her passing this morning any easier to take. We’ve been celebrating her life since we found out she had cancer several years ago, but I still can’t get past her death. Maybe it’s because my mom died of cancer last year or that my dad is dying of cancer right now. I don’t know. Ellen and I weren’t BFFs. In fact, I only saw her a few times each year, but I miss her terribly today.
