I took thousands of photos in what was this place. There were many good times within, but good riddance! The lighting was awful, and the place showed its age despite renovations in the past couple decades. I’m looking forward to the new venue in fall of 2017.
@NHGoregon
I spent this past Thursday at Ashland Hills Hotel. The prior time was on September 11, 2001, but that’s another story.
Anyway, I never knew of the tennis court on the property, a court with perhaps the best view of Grizzly Peak in town. I would have a hard time focusing on hitting the ball in such an environment.

My new Nikon D750 has wifi capabilities built into it. Today’s photo is my first test of those capabilities. I installed the Nikon software (wireless mobile utility) on my cell phone, turned the D750’s wi-fi on, set the camera down on my desk, and I was ready to go. I couldn’t change the aperture or shutter speed from my phone, but I could change the focus (by touching the screen) and take the picture without touching the camera. Fun. Now I may actually be able to show up in my own photos on occasion.
On Sunday afternoon we headed back to Ashland from Beatty taking a different route than our normal Highway 140. This time we went along the Sprague River and through Chiloquin. Shortly after passing through Chiloquin our GPS had us on Road 1349 (AKA Sevenmile Road). The cows munching away while a fire burned a nearby seemed a bit surreal. I stopped the car for a second to take this cell phone pic.
We’re a long way from Ashland, but tomorrow we will head back to Oregon. For a few of our Hawaii adventures click here.
One of our neighbors has done community movie nights in their yard on multiple occasions. We have never been able to attend, and this Saturday (7/19/14) is no exception. However, if you are looking for something to do in Ashland Saturday night then this is the place.
